Andrew Kreig is a Washington, DC-based journalist, author, attorney who has been an ASJA member since the 1980s. He began his career as a newspaper reporter with the Hartford Courant, where he frequently published magazine articles. He later became interim editor of its Sunday magazine before becoming legal columnist for Connecticut Magazine, a full-time freelance writer and authoring 1987 book “Spiked: How Chain Management Corrupted America’s Oldest Newspaper.”
He later worked as law clerk to a federal judge and as an associate in the Washington office of a major national law firm before become president/CEO of the Wireless Communications Association, helping to advocate for a new sector that would use wireless technology for Internet-delivered consumer, business, and government services. In 2009, he returned to journalism and free-lancing by undertaking research fellowships with two universities and then co-founding the Justice Integrity Project (JIP) (www.justice-integrity.org), a non-partisan body that publishes in-depth reports on complex issues. Among its topics are in-depth Readers Guides on the JFK, MLK and RFK deaths and Russian interference in U.S. elections and media.
Also, he arranged republication of “Oswald: Russian Episode,” the memoir of Lee Oswald’s close friend, Prof. Ernst Titovets, M.D., Ph.D. Andrew holds law degrees from the University of Chicago and Yale, and an undergraduate degree in history from Cornell University. He has been a frequent commentator on legal and media issues for decades, with speeches on five continents. In 2023, he launched and co-hosts the podcast “Digital Insiders” via such platforms as YouTube, Anchor and Apple. He serves on the board of several media, professional and civic associations, including two start-up newspapers and is an active member of such professional organizations as the National Press Club, the Overseas Press Club and the News Leaders Association..
