That empty feeling when you enter a crowded room – or join a group of 1200 members — can be daunting, but all it takes is a single friend to make you feel right at home.
In ASJA, you’ll find him (or her) in the Peer to Peer group.
Launched three years ago to connect members one-on-one, the group is designed to match you with a BFF who shares your same – or a similar – writing specialties or geographic location; someone to commiserate with about the challenges of our industry; someone to celebrate the successes.
The commitment is a mere six months, with the option of changing peers at that time.
What’s in it for you? More than you can imagine.
Need advice on what to charge? Ask your peer. Want another pair of eyes on a thorny contract (aren’t they all)? Ask your peer. Curious about new happenings in YOUR writing niche? Talk to your peer. Need someone to nudge you to finish an article or write XXX number of words a day? Get your Peer to send you a daily “nudge” email.
Ideally, peers will connect at least once a month, but the greater the frequency, the better the partnership. Phone, email, Skype – all work equally well. It’s up to YOU!
Peer to Peer has been going strong for three years and even though “it ain’t broke,” it’s time for a dust up.
We’re beginning with a newly committed group of Peers, old friends and new, who want to reach out and touch someone. PLEASE JOIN US. The process takes less than five minutes.
