Liz Seegert is a veteran independent health journalist covering aging, health policy, social determinants of health and other key health care issues.

Liz is a contributing writer for PBS/NextAvenue.org and has also written for TIME Health, The Wirecutter, Fortune, Money, American Journal of Nursing, Medscape, Consumer Reports, and Medical Economics, as well as dozens of other mainstream and trade media. Her articles have been syndicated in Forbes.com, the Los Angeles Times, the Hartford Courant, the Saturday Evening Post, and other major outlets. As AHCJ’s topic editor for aging, she provides journalists with story ideas, tips, resources, and best practices for reporting on aging.

Liz also co-directs two journalism fellowships: the Journalists in Aging Fellowship, a partnership of the Journalists Network on Generations and the Gerontological Society of America, and the JAWS (Journalism and Women Symposium) Health Journalism Fellowship.
